Salami and Olives

Sometimes boredom and hunger together means good things.

This one was just a bunch of green olives, black olives, pickled onions and capers. With sliced of salami that I cut into halves and tossed on a frying pan for a minute or so, on each side.

I served them with brown mustard and chilli garlic mayo (I used a teaspoon of harissa, 4 crushed garlic cloves and a tablespoon of mayonnaise)

(Yes, some people have been obsessing harissa, of late.)

This with a glass of white wine, which I will have to admit, was awful. Something called One Tree Hill, made from grapes grown at Nandi Hills. I ended up with a mild headache, after I was done drinking it. I think I like my Chenin Blancs and should stick to them. Looking up One Tree Hill on the web tells me it’s a combination of Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier. Not my kind of wine, for sure.

The little salami bites, on the other hand, sigh. I’m definitely going to make them again some day, when I have guests over.
